Welcome to Cedar Lane Apartments!

Founded in 1977, St. Mary’s Home for the Elderly opened the doors of its first building which was developed through the tireless efforts of local churches, government service groups and members of the community.  The second building known as the Burch Building went into service in 1982.  Through very generous gifts from both the Colton Endowment and the Harry and Jeannette Weinberg Foundation, our third building was added in 2001.

Today, the 208 unit apartment complex known as Cedar Lane Apartments serves both the elderly and disabled* by providing senior living with or without supportive services, assisted living and congregate housing.  With onsite dining room, chapel, beauty salon, gift shop and many other amenities, residents are able to enjoy a healthy, active lifestyle.   Two of the three buildings offer HUD subsidized housing which affords low-income seniors and the disabled an option in today’s housing market.

HUD subsidies are available to qualified applicants in Buildings 1 & 2.  Qualifications are income-based and rents are determined by income, assets & out-of-pocket medical expenses.  All residents in Buildings 1 and 2 are required to participate in our mandatory meal program as a condition of occupancy.  This program is $215 per month in addition to rent and provides a daily, nutritionally-balanced, hot meal at dinner.  Residents have the option to sign up for additional meals; breakfast is $170 per month and lunch is $190 per month. Residents of Building 3 have the option to participate in the meal programs.  Individual meals are priced as follows: breakfast $6, lunch $7 and dinner is $9.

If you are interested in an apartment, you must submit an apartment application.  There is no obligation however you must submit an application in order to start the process or have your name added to our applicant waitlist.  Wait times vary depending on the type of apartment and building to which the applicant applies.  For more information on how to apply, please click here.  For Career Opportunities, please click here.

*Our primary service is to the elderly with 10% of our occupancy going to those who are under 62 and disabled.

As of January 1, 2009, Cedar Lane Apartments is a smoke-free campus.
